(He saw Vlad who is attempting to get rid of the clover, thus led to a big chase)
Bad Vlad. Bad Vlad. BAD VLAADD!!!
(Back at Who-ville, The Mayor's office starts sliding from left to right. Back at the Nool, Horton starts hiding behind a tree and starts to breathes)
That is definitely not a bunny. (He turns around to see any signs of Vlad, but to no appearance, then breathes as relief) Lost him. Meant to lose him, and I lost him.
(It was fine until Vlad came back, and Horton screams as Vlad's about to kill the clover, with his razor sharp claws. Horton dodges and Vlad has his claws stuck to a tree, struggling to get off and saw Horton running away)
This tree for real, come on!
Hang on, Whoville! This is gonna get rough!
(He falls down as we cut to Who-ville which the office then slides to the left, with the Mayor landed on the Chairman's portraits, then slides back as he grabs from the exit and dodges everything from his office, including his desk, and Finwick's bowl, which landed on his crotch, with another object on the fishbowl, which Finwick dodges. Back at Nool.)
Now you're going to get it. Get ready for the best.
(He enters the Bamboo forest to avoid him and Vlad enters as well, with one of the bamboo being hit on him and trapped)
No! Horton!
(As Horton exits the Bamboo forest, he looks to see any sightings of Vlad, but to no appearance again and Horton breathes as relieve again)
I just know he's gonna jump out somewhere.
Hello.
(Horton screams as he saw Vlad, still here, and back up slowly till he reaches a branch and keeps backing up until he trip and grabs the branch with his nose. Back at Who-ville, the residents notice the weird shaking before it slides back to the left. We then see the Mayor rolling around through the podium and later got banged by a chair, a refrigerator, and a table, which causes him to scream in pain before he saw the same stapler and staples him again in the forehead, to which he screams in at the top of his lungs. Back at Who-ville...)
Chess mate. Now it's time for me to take clover and (baby-voice) crush all the little people on it...
Sorry. This is where we get off.
(Horton let go of the branch and it launches at Vlad, who is landed on a big rock)
Ow, in the my beak!
(He moves like a domino and falls to the trees)
Cool line. Usually I can't think of those things til later.
(He see a pink-style field that's all nothing but clovers as Horton searches for the one with the speck)
Mayor? Anybody there? Hello? Anyone?
But clover by clover by clover he found,
that the one that he sought for was just not around.
And by noon, poor Horton, more dead than alive,
had picked, searched, and piled up 9,005.
(tired)
Hello. Sorry to bother you, nobody. Knock knock. This is the way you say, "Who's there?" If there were any Whos there. Get it! "Who's there?!" (babbling)
All day he looked, looked on and on,
till his hope was almost gone.
(Just then, a wind blew a pile of pink clovers. Horton noticed this and begins to panic)
No. No. No. Please, No! This isn't fair!
(As Horton looks at the wind-blowing clovers, he saw the actual clover, the one with the speck)
But wait! Could this one be the one?
Was all his searching finally done?
(an excited Horton runs through the clover and grabs it and later jumps through a pile of clovers) Ah, yes! For this was the hour,
Horton have found them on the three-millionth flower!
Mayor? Mayor! I found you! (Silence; Horton's face goes nervous as the speck didn't answer) Mayor? Are you there? Mayor? (Horton lies down in defeat) Mayor! (Cuts to Who-Ville, being destroyed due to Vlad dropping the speck) Mayor, are you there? Mayor? Mayor? (Cuts back to the clover field) Mayor.... MAYYOOR!!!!!! (He falls down and begins to cry, covering his eyes with his ears, until he hears something)
ME Mayor the Elephant
(nasally voice)
Uh, no. This is Floyd. Can I take a message?
(Horton's face goes excited as he hears the Mayor and starts to jump in ecstatic)
Mayor! You're Okay!!
(At Who-Ville, the people and the buildings jumps and shakes due to Horton's ecstatic jump)
Horton! Horton! Stop! Stop it!
(The jumping and shaking stops)
Sorry. (Back at Who-Ville) It must've been rough down there. I can't believe I found you. You really have me worried.
OW Old Who
Say, the Mayor was right!
MS McDodd Sisters
(The sisters and baby arrived to hug his father)
Daddy, daddy, daddy.
Okay, I'm alright. And so are you. (Sally arrives and she and Ned both smile at each other before he talks to the Who's and clear his throat) Citizens of Whoville! I'd like you to meet our friend, Horton. (The Who's all cheer for Horton, with him being in touched, then back to Whoville) He's going to help us.
I've got this. This is the chairman-
IDIOT!!! You're finished in this town. Is that understood? Finished. You boob!! (The chairman was too appalled to speak, before Horton laughs) I'm just joking.
Horton, this is my wife Sally.
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: You exist! This means my husband isn't crazy. Hooray!
And... off you my daughters. Haley, Holly, Hooly, Hedy Hilda and Hanna.
And here is Miss. Yelp, my loyal assistant. And here's Dr. Larue...
And Bert from accounting. And Mrs. McGilicuddy. (a cat yowl can be heard from the speck) And Mr. Farfoogan from the Cloogan Farfoogans. And the Oldman in the bathtub.
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: Let's not overwhelm the poor fella. He's never gonna remember all these names.
I'll try my best. Sally. Chairman. Haley, Holly, Hooly, Hilda, Hedy & Hanna. Miss Yelp, Dr. Larue, Bert from Accounting, Mrs. McGilicuddy, Mr. Farfoogan of the Clugan Farfoogans. And wasn't there an old guy in a shower?
We're all here, Horton. And we all believe in you.
Wow! That's awesome. And it's a responsibility, I do not take lightly. I promise you a future that it's safe, sound, and stable. We will create a world where every Who is endowed with three inalienable rights to be determined that a later date.
(In the international credits, the song still plays, but in a different version) (sings)
And I can't fight this feeling anymore. Yeah, I like-like this, faster, more up-tempo.
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: (sings) I've forgotten what I started fighting for.
(sings)
I can't fight this feeling.
(sings)
It's time to bring my ship into your shore.
MM Mayor the Mouse
That's a metaphor!
(sings)
And throw away the oars.
Ha-aa-ah!
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: (sings) I've forgotten what I started fighting for.
(sings)
And I can't fight this feeling anymore.
(sings)
I've forgotten what I started fighting for.
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: Well, you shouldn't be fighting anything, enjoy yourself.
(sings, crying)
And if I have to crawl upon the floor.
(sings)
And break down your stupid door.
Crashing through your door.
(sings)
Baby, I can't fight this feeling anymore on an empty stomach.
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: (sings) I can't fight this feeling...
(Yummo makes monkey noises) Sally and Sour Kangaroo: (sings) I can't fight this feeling anymore.
(As the song ends, Mayor holds down the final note and Horton makes more noises, then laughs)
Sorry, just faking words.
(Mayor still holds down, then breathes)
Oh, that felt good. Cathartic! What?
(In the jungle, it was actually coming from Horton trying to position the clover and the speck near a coconut drink.)
There. That ought to be comfy.
(Horton sips from a coconut, and sighs in relaxation.)
Nothing wrong with this, Morton. Nothing wrong with this. Just you, me and the speck, shooting the breeze. We're a club. We're a group. We can take a vote on the issues. (mock evilly) We can be a secret society that controls the balance of power in the world.
And no one else can join, (uses his ears as a hat) unless they wear funny hats! (He laughs goofily, before sipping his drink.)
The Chair recognizes Brother Morton.
I'm really happy you found this speck...but you might wanna keep it to yourself.
Well, you're talking to a clover. That doesn't look good.
You know what doesn't look good? You talking about the speck like the speck isn't even there. The speck never said anything bad about you. But, hey! Good luck with your illusion of superiority.
You know, the speck can think anything it wants about me. It's a speck.
Whoa! I see what's going on here. Morton, no matter how tight the speck and I get, the speck could never replace you. I'm only sad that I would have to explain that, at this point.
Well, that's awesome, Horton. That really helps. Just try to keep this to yourself. I'll see you later. Try.
(As Morton leaves, Horton shrugs and looks closer at the speck, until the his class arrive.)
Hey, Horton! What you got there?
What? Nothing! We're not doing anything! Do-do-dum dum dum, we're totally alone!
"We"? What? "We"? Did I say that? I just... oh. No, I would never say that. because that would imply that I was with someone, and not alone. (He giggles, before trying to keep his mouth shut to avoid spilling the beans about the speck, until...) Okay, seriously, you can't tell anybody! I mean it. If anybody finds out about this, it could be very, very bad. I'm not sure why.
We won't tell anyone. And if we do, we'll tell them not to tell anyone!
Perfect! Okay, so I'm taking a bath, right, cause my skin gets kind of dry and a little bit ashy.
While Horton came clean about the speck that he'd found
and how he had saved it when it nearly drowned,
(cuts to Whoville) on his morning commute and noticed things weren't quite the same on his route.
(Back in the jungle, as Horton continues his story.) But please don't blame Horton, for he didn't know that a small bump above...
...and I dove into the water like this!
(As he jumps and lands on the ground, Whoville and its buildings jump up in a giant tremor.)
... was a big bump below.
(At the construction site)
Hey, Joe, don't work too hard.
J Joe
Ah, these luxury condos, they don't build themselves. (Another big bump sends everything in the air, allowing the condo building.) Hey, look at that. I guess they do build themselves.
(Just then, a rustling is heard at the jungle)
Uh-oh. Hang on Mr. Mayor. I may have to put up a fight. A frightened elephant could be very dangerous. (to the rustling sound) Alright! You've called down the thunder, buddy. You hungry for trouble? I'M AN ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT SALAD BAR! TAKE A BITE!!!
(The rustling noise stops to reveal it was Morton, who was tired of running)
I hate running.
Morton! (gritting teeth goofily) Don't do that!
Horton! Horton? (turns around to see Horton's eyes) D'oh! There you are. We got trouble! Wait. Stay. Wait. Did you hear that? No, I'm here. Okay. Listen. No, go. Kangaroo has gone nuts. Bananas. She's telling everyone that you should be kicked out of Nool.
She said that? I thought we were friends.
Word is, she's gone to Vlad's.
Vlad. Vlad. I know two Vlads. Is it the bad Vlad or the bunny Vlad that makes the Cookies?
Yeah, Horton. She's sending you a bunny with cookies. I think we can assume it's the bad Vlad.
Yeah, that's a good call.
So, unless you're cool with giant razor sharp claws (pulls Horton's eyes) ripping the flesh off of your body, I get rid of the clover.
I can't. I promised the Mayor. I meant what I said and I said what what I meant. And an elephant's faithful 100%.
Please, for me, just this once, be faithful 99% of the time. I've never gone 99% on anything. They think I'm awesome. So, come on.
I meant to what I said and I said what I meant.
I'm not gonna say it. (Horton wants Morton to say it, but fails) You can do that all day it's not happening. (Still waiting to finish the sentence, Morton sighs) An elephant's faithful 100%.
That's right. That's my code. My motto. Thanks for the warning, Morton.
Okay, but watch the skies. (pulls Horton's eyes again) Keep watching the skies.
(Morton runs away before looking at Horton then runs away. In fear, Horton looks up at the sky, knowing something bad will happen)
Mayor, you need to get everyone underground, NOW!
(Mayor is performing CPR to Finwick)
Two, Three, four...
I don't wanna sound the alarm. (Mayor starts doing mouth-to-mouth at the fish before the fish inflates, eyes open wider) There's a good possibility we maybe attacked by a giant, carnivorous bird.
There's a small chance it could be a bunny with cookies, but, I wouldn't count on it.
(Mayor looks at the the Chairman's portraits)
Oh, they are formidable.
(He loses grip of Finwick and tries to grab it before the fish went back to his bowl, panting)
Mayor, are you there?
Yeah, no. That's a great idea. It's just... in order to get everyone mobilized, I need the "Okay" of the city council. And they never listen to me. I've been called a boob. Several times. I can't do it.
You have to talk to them, Mayor. Okay, listen...
(Just as he talks to the Mayor)
(The Mayor runs home from the dentist with his numb arm flailing behind him. He enters and closes the door on his arm, struggling to pull it out, before noticing JoJo holding a pile of various objects.)
Alright...! Heeey, JoJo, I need your help. Can you help me? Okay, great! Okay, first! I need you to go to the girl's room! (His numb arm rubberbands back at him and slaps him in the face.) Ahh! Take down Hannah's china doll collection, and then- stop looking at my arm. Put away Holly's light bulb collection, and then- you know what? Just take care of anything that might break or shatter! Okay, take a good long look. (grabs his numb arm and starts shaking at it) Got it? Thanks JoJo! (He runs up the stairs, and starts shouting some gibberish nonsense as he shakes his arm, before throwing it against the wall, where he screams in pain. But in realization, his arm is no longer numb and works perfectly again. He goes to his room and grabs some stuff from his room) Here. I'll take that, and- whoa. Yah! (He starts putting his stuff to the top of his room)
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: Hi! You're home late!
Oh, sorry Hon, I was just... having some dental work done. On my... arm.
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: So, what was that- Ned! What are you doing?
Wha- What do you mean?
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: Well, I'm no detective, Ned, but you are hanging from the chandelier.
I just thought it might look better somewhere it can't fall on us and crush us in our sleep. (The chandelier starts falling down as he screams until it closely hits the ground, with him chuckles nervously)
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: What is going on?
(He starts getting out of the chandelier)
... Hey, Hon... Did you ever get the feeling that you were being watched?
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: Um... yeah. Sure. I suppose.
And then you get the feeling that maybe that thing watching you is, aaauuuhh- a giant elephant!
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: Um...
And- You know how you get that weird feeling that your world is actually a tiny speck? And that elephant... that I talked about earlier, is carrying it around on a flower. And you realize that if you tell anybody, they'd think you were crazy. But you still feel the responsibility to keep everyone safe... You know that feeling?
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: Um... you know, I'm gonna have to say no... do you know that feeling?
... dah! Pfft, hohohoho, no! (yawn) Wow, I am beat. Time to hit the hay, I guess.
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: Sweetheart, I know you're under a lot of stress. And if you're seeing elephants and flowers, then fine. Just don't tell anyone else that story, okay? And remember, it's not the end of the world.
(Back at the jungle)
Horton to Mayor. Horton to Mayor. Come in Mayor, over.
(Back at Who-ville, the Mayor is at the rooftop, carrying the horn up high)
Horton? I get terrible reception here.
HOW ABOUT THIS?! IF I GET UP REAL CLOSE, CAN YOU READ ME?!
(screams while falling off the roof)
Yep! Roger that! Are we at that safe place yet?
Almost. I'm pretty sure the worst part's over. This is your elephant speaking. Just sit back, enjoy the ride, and we'll have you to Mount Nool in no time.
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: (off-screen) No, you can't have ice cream for breakfast.
MS McDodd Sisters
(off-screen)
Pleeaase?
Who's that? Is there someone else there?
Well, that's my wife and kids.
I do indeed. (reveals his wallet and shows a really long pictures of his children) A beautiful wife, 96 daughters, and 1 son. (shows a picture of Jojo through his wallet)
Hohohoho! Busy guy, haha.
And we all share one bathroom. You know how that is.
Yeah! Don't I know it, heh. (whispered; to himself) Bathroom?
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: Ned?
Ahh- What?
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: Sweetheart, you know you're on the roof, right?
MS McDodd Sisters
(off-screen)
Please, Mom.
Sally O'Malley-McDodd: (to her daughter) What's that? No, you need to go to bed, Daddy's having a breakdown. (to the Mayor) Ned? What are you up to now?
I was just about to put the kids to bed when I got off the roof. And I- That's the- That's what happened, right.
HM Helga McDodd
(Girls Bedroom)
Daddy?
HM Helga McDodd
Can I have a glass of water?
MS McDodd Sisters
Good Night. Me too! Me three! Me four! Me five! Me nine! Me twenty-eight! (And so on.)
(The scene cuts to Miss Yelp's desk with her computer) (laughing)
Girl, I got 15,000 friends already. (serious) What? What do you mean, it don't look like me? (Shows an old picture of her on WhoSpace, a parody of MySpace) That looks just like me; 10 years ago. (looks at her watch) Wait a minute. Hold on for one second.
(Grabs a purple drink with a liver for a label and pours it on a cup as the Mayor arrives in a air-themed elevator and slams it to stop. He later walks and grabs the cup)
Treats me like an idiot. I am not an idiot... (drinks the whole cup, then rushes to Miss Yelp) Do I look like an idiot?!
You don't want me to answer that.
I am not an idiot. (In his office, still angered about recently) Has the nerve to call me a boob? I would never call somebody a boob. He's a boob. (looks at a portrait of the Chairman) Look at you. Yuck! Look at your face. And I bet you don't look so good with a (throws his stapler at the portrait) stapler on your head!
(The stapler miss the portrait as it bounces right back at Ned, stapling him in the forehead, to which he screams in pain at the top of his lungs, loud enough for even Horton to hear)
(Back in Whoville, Miss Yelp removes the stapler on Ned's forehead)
Ow, ow, ow... yagh! Thank you, Miss Yelp.
(?) (slurred)
Who said that!? Back off! I'll punch you! Wagh!
(He falls over onto his gramophone, grabbing the horn in self defense as he follows the voice outside, coming out of the burst drain pipe from earlier.)
Hello?
(At the Jungle of Nool) (high pitched and silent, from the speck)
Hello?
(excited)
Hellooooo?
(Back in Whoville, his speech is unintelligible due to the drain pipe. Ned ponders in confusion about this but seeing the horn in his hands, he puts it in the drain pipe and...)
(through the horn)
Who's there?
(In the jungle…)
The Mayor? The Mayor?! (looks to a passing bird in hysterics) I'M TALKING TO THE MAYOR!!! (the bird's nose go down and walks away) I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. I knew there was life on this speck!
(In Whoville…)
"This speck?" (chuckling doubtedly) What speck?
(In the jungle…)
Well, um... (leans on a tree) I don't exactly know how to tell you this, but...
(In Whoville…) (through the horn)
You're living on a speck.
Well, I hate to disagree with you, Oh, voice from the drainpipe, but I live in Whoville.
Well, then, Whoville's a speck.
(from the speck)
Right, o- (In Whoville…) -kay, seriously, who is this? Is this Burt from accounting?
Uh, no. This is Horton. I'm an elephant.
Okayyyy... Hor-ton, fake name. Where are you?
Well, from where you standing? I guess I'm... in the sky. Which is saying something, because I've slimmed down quite a bit. I swim. You're whole world fits on a flower in my world.
Oh, man, this is even inclusion for you, Bert.
Don't believe me? Watch what happens when I put you in the shade.
(In Whoville…)
This is absolutely impossible-
(The sky turns dark, The Mayor eyes widened as he saw the sky. Then cuts to Horton who uses a tree to cover the speck)
Light.
(The Mayor looks down) (through the horn)
Dark.
(Horton uses his ears to cover the speck)
Light.
(The Who-ville people put on their night shades repeatedly every time it goes from night to day) (through the horn)
Dark, light, dark, light, dark, light, dark, light, dark. Light. (Back at the jungle) Don't you see?
(In Whoville) (through the horn)
We're in the middle of some kind of amazing cosmic convergence. Two vastly different worlds, miraculously crossing paths! Mine, COLOSSAL! Yours, miniscule. Yet somehow, we've managed to make contact.
(In Whoville…) (through the horn)
If you think about it, it's pretty amazing.
(The Mayor looks up at the sky as the camera zooms upwards)
Is everything okay down there?
(In Whoville…) (speechless)
I... I don't know. You tell me. You're the one holding the speck.
I'm the one holding the speck. (gasp, realizing what the Mayor said) I'm the one holding the speck! (through the horn) Don't you worry, Mr. Mayor.
(The Mayor rushes to his desk and plays some music on his telephone, with a beeping sound; to Horton)
Hold, please!
(He rushes to an air-filled elevator, but he got hit and fell down. Miss Yelp, on her computer, grabs an ice pack to him and he puts it on his head and later enters the elevator)
What did all of this mean? The Mayor hadn't a clue.
So, he ran to the office of Dr. Larue,
the brainiest brain on the staff at Who U.
(At Larue's office)
Dr. Larue! Oh, this is crazy...!
(lisp voice)
Oh! Mr. Mayor! How may I be of assistance?
I don't know. Hey! You know, I was just wondering if our world were, say, a tiny speck, mmm, floating through space... how would we know?
Well, why would you ask something like that?
Oh, no reason. No reason at all. I don't even remember. Yes, I do. Ah, you know what? Some guy was talking to me. Not an elephant in the sky. A guy on the ground.
(A round glass containing green acid starts to roll over and the Mayor noticed it and quickly grabs it)
There would be several ramifications.
(The acid then pours on the desk while Dr. Larue puts a popcorn kernel and starts experimenting with it using a laser-like experiment)
Uh-huh, yeah. Tiny speck.
Floating around. (While Larue uses her laptop and types about the "speck", The Mayor looks at the acid and quickly hides it with a book before it sinks itself) Well, we'd have inexplicable tremors, dramatic changes in the weather, (Dr. Larue reads at a very long paper containing results) and if we didn't eventually achieve some sort of stability, our world would be... (She removes her glasses for dramatic effect) destroyed!(A kernel later becomes a popcorn)
Destroyed?! (slurred) Destroyed, Oh destroyed. Oh, trouble! (As the Mayor leaves, Dr. Larue quickly stops the acid bottle with her finger from pouring. At Mayor's office, he hangs up the telephone and rushes to Horton) Horton!
(in a nasally voice)
Um, no, uh, this is... uh... Benny. Horton is busy right now. (In the jungle, Horton holds his trunk to change his voice, before going back to his normal voice, chuckling.) No! I'm joking. That's me.
(to himself)
Oh, we're doomed.
