[Bonnie and her mother arrive at Blaze's house]
Thanks, fellas. Pretty glad I met you devices.
Ah, don't be dumping us something you can't flush.
[gasps as she hears the doorbell ringing]
It's her!
M Mrs. Manoukian
[answers the door]
Hello. Can I help you?
A Mrs. Anderson
Hi. I'm so sorry to bother you, but we got this message from your daughter. She seems to have found my daughter's toys. Are they in there?
M Mrs. Manoukian
Oh, okay. I'll have her get 'em. Blaze! Honey?
B Blaze
[offscreen]
Yeah?
M Mrs. Manoukian
Can you bring down those two rag dolls you found? Their owner's here.
M Mrs. Manoukian
Blaze, this is, uh…
A Mrs. Anderson
This is Bonnie.
M Mrs. Manoukian
Hello, Bonnie.
B Blaze
Hi. Are these your toys? [holds up Jessie and Bullseye]
B Bonnie
[dejectedly]
I don't play with toys anymore. It's just their antiques.
B Blaze
They do look pretty old. Must be worth something at least, right?
B Bonnie
No, they're not. You should keep 'em.
[Woody, Buzz, Smarty Pants, Snappy and Atlas all react in complete shock]
Oh, no.
A Mrs. Anderson
Bonnie, you don't want them? Are you sure? [Bonnie sadly runs back to the car] Bonnie? Bonnie! I don't know what's come over her. I'm so sorry to have bothered you.
M Mrs. Manoukian
It's all right.
B Blaze
If you ever change your mind, Bonnie, just let me know.
E Emily
[Flashback to a long time ago, at the tire swing tree…] [writing her name and address in the back of Jessie's left chap]
There. This way, you'll never lose me, Jessie. [yanks the pull-string on her back]
[voice-box]
Friends forever, partner.
E Emily
[giggles]
That's right, partner. But don't you worry. I'll keep a good eye on you. [gets on the tire swing] See? I'm still watching.
[Jessie and the rescue team jump aboard the donation truck and find Lilypad]
Lily! It's okay. We got ya.
You shouldn't have come, Jessie.
Nuh-uh. No time for pity parties, Lily. Bonnie still needs you to make a friend.
Me? But I… [scrolls through the Dance Girls' messages on her screen] I made a major miscalculation with Kara, Chelsea, and Heidi. You were right. Bonnie's different. She deserves better.
Lily. You didn't know those girls were wrong for Bonnie.
No, I'm wrong for Bonnie. I'm the one who caused this.
Well, then help me fix it. I found Bonnie the right friend.
Yep. So, how about you and me connect them?
But first, we gotta get everyone off this truck and back home.
[Jessie sneaks into the closet and haves a conversation with Woody through walkie-talkies] [holding Dr. Nutcase after rescuing him]
Jessie, hey. What's going on?
N Dr. Nutcase
Curse technology!
N Dr. Nutcase
We're all just landfill now!
Woody, is it as bad out there for toys as they say it is?
N Dr. Nutcase
Beware the machines!
Yeah. Yeah, it's bad. We're finding more abandoned toys each day. Why? Are you guys okay?
Not really. Tech's invaded our house too.
Yeah, her name's Lilypad. Looks like a frog, but really, she's a leech, [through walkie-talkie] sucking up all of Bonnie's attention. Making her stare at her screen all day. There's got to be some way to stop it.
[stammering]
I don't know, Jessie. Uh… Toys are for play, but tech is… it's for everything.
[sighs]
You remember my first kid, Emily? The one I told you about who gave me away?
[through walkie-talkie]
Of course I do, yeah.
It feels like that all over again. [voice-over during a flashback] First we were playing… and then the world started changing. Emily changed and then… just like that… my time with her was over. [Fade back to the present] Now I'm losing Bonnie to this device. Is it me? Am I just no good at being a toy?
Jessie, you're a good toy.
[Bullseye wakes up and sees a red light through the closet, hearing voices] [rehearsing his proposal to Jessie through the mirror; inhales]
Okay. Jessie… [clears throat] No, Sheriff… Sheriff Jessie, I appreciate this promotion, but what I'd really like to promote… No, that is so stupid. [sees Bullseye approaching the closet through the reflection]
But she got Bonnie invited to a sleepover in seconds.
Jessie, you know Bonnie better than anyone. What does your gut say?
That it can't be that easy.
Bonnie won't click with just anyone.
She needs to actually meet these girls. She's not like most kids. Bonnie plays different. She… She needs to play.
You're right, Woody. Toys are for play. [through walkie-talkie] And play is how she'll find the right friend.
The age of toys may be over, but I'm gonna do something useful before I go. I'm going to that sleepover, and making a real friend for Bonnie!
[Woody and Buzz hide under Bonnie's bed while she's playing with Lilypad] [comforting Buzz as he gazes at Bonnie's suitcase, feeling worried about Jessie]
Don't worry, Buzz. We're gonna find her. I promise.
[sighs]
Woody, I know it's just a pretend ceremony, and Bonnie usually decides these things, but... Well, if it were up to me, you'd be my best man.
[gasps in surprise]
Buzz, I... I'd be honored.
[sighs deeply]
But Jessie will never speak to me again now that I've let Lily take charge of the room.
[getting an idea]
Wait a minute. Take charge.
No, no, no. Buzz, that's it!
[sneaks over to the nightstand and unplugs the cord for Lilypad's charging dock from the outlet]
Tomorrow morning, everyone will wake up fully recharged... except Lilypad.
And then we'll make Lily tell us where's Jessie.
