Charlotte's Web (1973) as Charlotte

View Quote Charlotte: Salutations.
Wilbur: What?
Charlotte: Salutations.
Wilbur: What are they? And where are you?
Charlotte: Salutations are greetings. It's my fancy way of saying hello.
View Quote Wilbur: [about Zuckerman raising him to be slaughtered] Is it true what the old sheep says? Is that awful thing true?!
Goose: It's a dirty-irty trick, but it's true.
Wilbur: I don't want to die! I want to stay here in my warm manure pile! I want to breathe the beautiful air, and lie in the beautiful sun!
Old Sheep: [dryly] You're certainly making a beautiful noise.
Wilbur: [breaking into tears] I don't want to die! I don't want to die!
Charlotte: [speaking for the first time, this time from an unseen location] Quiet, Wilbur! Now chin up!
Wilbur: Who said that?
Charlotte: Do you want a friend?
Wilbur: Yes, I want a friend. But I want to live, too!
Charlotte: Well, chin up. I'll be your friend and I'll try to save your life. I've been watching you, and I like you.
Wilbur: I can't see you. What do you mean "chin up"?
Charlotte: Now go to sleep. You'll see me in the morning, and I'll explain everything then.
Narrator: Wilbur's stomach was empty, and his mind was full. And when your stomach is empty and your mind is full, it's always hard to sleep. But sleep and Wilbur finally found each other.
View Quote [Charlotte is looking for a new message to write in her web]
Lamb: How about "Pig Supreme"?
Charlotte: No good. It sounds like a rich dessert.
Goose: How about terrific, terrific, terrific?
Charlotte: Cut that down to one terrific and it will do nicely. I think terrific might impress Zuckerman.
Wilbur: But Charlotte, I'm not terrific.
Charlotte: You're terrific as far as I am concerned. (Templeton hits Wilbur in the face with his tail as he walks by; Charlotte glares at him) Does anybody know how to spell it?
Goose: I think it's T, double-E double-R, double-R, double-I, double-F, double-I, double-C-C-C.
Charlotte: What kind of an acrobat do you think I am? It would take me all night to write that.
Old Sheep: I would advise you not to consult geese in matters of spelling. The word is spelled T-E-R-R-I-F-I-C.
The Goose: [firmly] I still think it's prettier spelled: T, double-E, double-R, double-R, double-I--
Charlotte: Please! Let me spell it my way.

How the West Was Won (1962) as Lilith Prescott

View Quote I've got two things no one can ever take from me: This... [pointing to a picture of her husband] and my land in Arizona.
View Quote Roger Morgan: Wet or dry, you're the handsomest woman I ever did see. Spirit and a fine sturdy body. It's a noble combination, Miss Prescott. Why, for you, child bearin' would come as easy as rollin' off a log.
Lilith Prescott: Well, I... think I'd rather roll off a log, Mr. Morgan.
View Quote Cleve Van Valen: From the first moment I saw you I've known that I couldn't live without you.
Lilith Prescott: Well... I'd hate to be the cause of your death, Mr. Van Valen.

Halloweentown (1998) as Aggie

View Quote Marnie: Hey, look, a pentagram! Lon Chaney had one of these on his palm when he got bitten by that werewolf.
Aggie: So he did, I've always said the movies can teach us about life.
View Quote Aggie: If Marnie's training doesn't go too well, her powers will be lost forever.
Gwen: YES! And she'll finally be human! She'll be like her father, she'll be like her brother, & Sophie will be after her.
Aggie: Didn't you know that being normal is very underrated.
Aggie: Wouldn't it be easy if you had to raise children who have no powers at all? I mean look at you with your plastic bowls. Well, you know leftover chicken looks better when it's back to the bone.
Gwen: Mother! Get that thing out of there right now!
Gwen: For years you've been coming here, you’ve been dropping hints to Marnie, and you've been badgering me to start her training. I know that's why you came, mother. But, the fight is over, you know that. The clock has finally run out and you can just go home.
Aggie: Well, as much as I'd like to think you're making a mistake about Marnie, you're wrong about why I came tonight. The truth is I came to ask for your help.
Gwen: My help? With what?
Aggie: Well, something's happening back at home. Something's changed. And everyday, I find another neighbor has disappeared or two I think. It's almost as if more than another just keeps on not coming back.
Gwen: Oh, mother, please, my neighbors disappeared too. It's called moving.
Aggie: Oh, Gwendolyn! I'm serious about this! It's almost as if someone is trying to return as back to the dark times. And I'm afraid that my powers won't be strong enough to stop it. Truth is, I need another Cromwell witch. I need you.
Gwen: Mother, there were plenty of witches and warlocks back at Halloweentown. Why don't you recruit one of them?
Aggie: Oh, I tried. You know how they are these days, they just don't want to get involved.
Gwen: Mother, I'm sure there is something else that you could do. But, I can't leave my kids fighting this nameless force in another dimension if I had nothing to do.
Aggie: Nothing to do with? Hmm. Well, fine then, bury your neck in the sand of this mortal land of yours. Perhaps the Cromwell heir would end with you. Let's just hope that Halloweentown doesn't come to an end along with it.
View Quote Marnie: Grandma, it was Kalabar.
Gwen: What?
[On the stairs leading to the City Hall, Kalabar stands up and stares at the Cromwells]
Aggie: [angrily points at him] So it was you?!
Gwen: [gently pushes Sophie aside] Why, Kalabar?
Kalabar: You could've had me, the most powerful warlock of all. And you could've ruled with me as my queen, but you chose a human instead!
Marnie: Well, it turns out she was a pretty good judge of character.
Aggie: Your days of rule are at an end, Kalabar.
Kalabar: [waves a finger] Don't underestimate me, Agatha. Ha! [summons the talisman from inside the statue and catches it as he laughs maniacally] Now my darkness will spread unchecked, and I'll be the ruler of both worlds! [laughs maniacally again as Aggie pulls out her wand and chants a spell to the talisman, followed by Gwen who holds her hand] Don't waste your energies, witches! Your precious talisman is nothing more…
Dylan: [glares at Kalabar] Man, that jerk! I'd like to… I'd like to…
Marnie: [looks down to see blue light glowing from her brother's fingers as Kalabar laughs offscreen] Dylan!
Dylan: What?
Marnie: It looks like we've added another witch to the family. Or should I say warlock.
Kalabar: …like a dark shadow…
Dylan: [looks at his glowing fingers] No way! I don't have any powers, I'm a normal one in the family.
Marnie: [looks at Kalabar] Hey, Chocolate Bar! You better give that talisman back or you're in big trouble!
Kalabar: You half-human brat! Do you think your magic is any match for mine?
Marnie: Hmm, no. But let's see my powers, and my mom's, my grandmother's, my sister's, and my brother's might do it. Hit it, guys.
[Holding their hands, the Cromwells, except Dylan, close their eyes and hum. Kalabar laughs when he sees nothing happening to the talisman still in his hands]
Kalabar: Silly witches, you Cromwells have failed! [laughs maniacally]
Marnie: [opens her eyes to Dylan, whispering] Come on, Dylan, we need you. Believe.
[Sophie opens her hand for Dylan, who takes it. They continue to hum as light shines brightly from the orb on the talisman in Kalabar's hands]
Kalabar: No! No! [The orb's light glows more] No!!!!! [The light engulfs him, and as he disappears, the talisman flies back into Aggie's hand]
Aggie: Oh! The talisman!
[The citizens cheer and the Cromwell kids jump in celebration]

In & Out (1997) as Berniece

View Quote Berniece: I need that wedding. I need some beauty and some music and some placecards before I die. It's like heroin.
View Quote Jennifer the Flower Girl: My mom says it won't last.
Berniece: Your mom's an alcoholic.
View Quote Berniece: Howard, we want you to know: you're our son, and we'll always love you, gay, straight, red, green, if you rob a bank, if you kill someone.
Frank Brackett: If you get drunk, climb a clock tower, and take out the town.
Berniece: As long as you get married.

Singin' in the Rain (1952) as Kathy Selden

View Quote You might as well know. I'm the one who hit Miss Lamont with a cake. [looks at Don angrily] Believe me, it was meant for Mr. Lockwood.
View Quote Don: Well, we movie stars get the glory. I guess we have to take the little heartaches that go with it. People think we lead lives of glamour and romance, but we're really lonely - terribly lonely.
Kathy: I don't go to the movies much - if you've seen one, you've seen them all...Oh, no offense. Movies are entertaining enough for the masses, but the personalities on the screen just don't impress me. I mean, they don't talk. They don't act. They just make a lot of dumb show...
...
Kathy: Acting means great parts, wonderful lines, speaking of glorious words, Shakespeare, Ibsen.
Don: Words, tell me, what's your lofty mission in life that lets you sneer at my humble profession?
Kathy: I'm an actress.
Don: What?...
Kathy: On the stage.
Don: Oh, on the stage. Well, I'd like to see you act. What are you in right now? I could brush up on my English, or uh, bring along an interpreter, that is, if they'd let in a movie actor.
Kathy: Well, I'm not in a play right now, but I will be. I'm going to New York.
Don: Oh, you're going to New York and then some day we'll all hear of you, won't we? Kathy Selden as Juliet, as Lady Macbeth, as King Lear. You'll have to wear a beard for that one, of course.
Kathy: Oh, you can laugh if you want to, but at least the stage is a dignified profession.
Don: [scoffing] Dignified profession!
Kathy: And what do you got to be so conceited about? You're nothing but a shadow on film, a shadow. You're not flesh and blood.
Don: Oh, no? [He moves closer to kiss her amorously]
Kathy: Stop! [She pushes him away]
Don: What can I do to you? I'm only a shadow.
Kathy: You keep away from me. Just because you're a big movie star, wild parties, swimming pools, you expect every girl to fall in a dead faint at your feet. Well, don't you touch me.
Don: Fear not, sweet lady! I will not molest you. I am but a humble jester. And you. You are TOO far above me. Farewell, Ethel Barrymore! I must tear myself from your side. [Kathy then laughs hysterically as Don's suit rips while he gets out of her car]
View Quote [After Don Lockwood's latest film is jeered by test audiences]
Don: Everything you ever said about me is true, Kathy. I'm no actor. I never was. Just a lotta 'dumb show.' I know that now.
Cosmo: Well, at least you're taking it lying down.
Don: No. No kidding, Cosmo. Did you ever see anything as idiotic as me on that screen tonight?
Cosmo: Yeah, how about Lina?
Don: All right. I ran her a close second. Maybe it was a photo finish. Anyway, I'm through, fellas.
Kathy: Don, you're not through!
Cosmo: Why of course not. Why, with your looks and figure, you could drive an ice wagon or shine shoes!
Kathy: Block hats!
Cosmo: Sell pencils!
Kathy: Dig ditches!
Cosmo: Or worse still, go back to vaudeville.
