[Luke is growing visibly angry, and looks at his lightsaber, which is sitting on the arm of the Emperor's chair.] [glancing at the lightsaber]

Luke Skywalker [turning away, attempting to calm himself down]

[Luke attacks Vader ferociously, eventually backing him onto a railing and cutting off his arm. He stands over Vader for a moment.] [laughing]

Luke Skywalker [turning to face the Emperor, throwing away his lightsaber]
Never. I'll never turn to the Dark Side. You have failed, your highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me.
[Luke refuses to give in to the Emperor's demands and disarms himself.] [raising his hands toward Luke]
If you will not be turned, you will be destroyed!
[Lightning shoots out of the Emperor's fingers and strikes Luke, causing him to fall to the floor in agony. Darth Vader gets up and stands next to the Emperor, watching.]
Young fool. Only now, at the end, do you understand. [shoots another round of lightning into Luke] Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side. You have paid the price for your lack of vision! [continues shooting lightning at Luke]
Luke Skywalker [writhing in agony]
Father, please!
[Darth Vader continues to watch the scene, looking back and forth between Luke and the Emperor.]
Now, young Skywalker... you will die.
[The Emperor grins for a moment before his expression turns angry once more. He fires more lightning in a continuous stream into Luke, who is in even more pain than before. Darth Vader looks between the two once more, then suddenly lunges forward and picks up the Emperor, directing the lightning into the Emperor and himself. Vader throws the Emperor bodily into the nearby shaft, and the Emperor is destroyed in a spectacular burst of energy. Vader is critically injured in the process.]
[Luke is attempting to drag Vader to a nearby shuttle on the Death Star.]
Luke, help me take this mask off.
Luke Skywalker But you'll die!
Nothing can stop that now. Just for once, let me look on you with my own eyes.
Anakin Skywalker
[Luke carefully removes Vader's mask to reveal Anakin's disfigured face underneath.] [weakly]
Now, go my son. Leave me.
Luke Skywalker No, you're coming with me. I won't leave you here. I've got to save you!
Anakin Skywalker
[smiles]
You already have, Luke. You were right. You were right about me... Tell your sister... you were right... [falls silent as he dies]
