Milton [Before Judy could react, Nick kicks the spotlight to the chandelier, blinding the robed figure, which Judy looks up to notice]
...to truly be better together... [the robed figure falls off the chandelier and lands on the stage, startling him] Ugh!
[Chief Bogo's attention turns to the guests watching the robed figure, revealing himself to be a blue pit viper. Judy, Nick, and Chief Bogo watch in shock as the viper named Gary De'Snake reveals himself in front of everyone at the Zootennial Gala]
THERE'S A SNAKE!!!!!
[The Zootopians start running and screaming with the Zebros escorting Winddancer to safety]

[as he rudely shoves one of Gazelle's tiger backup dancers]

[Gary grabs Milton and slithers away with him and the contained journal. Judy watches the snake carrying both Milton and the journal, while the guests are running in fear, Judy frees her own ears as she chases Gary]

[During the chase scene at the Lynxley Manor, a lion chef's hat is knocked off, revealing a rat/mouse controlling him by pulling his mane.] [gasps; points at the lion]

[Gary races down a hallway with Milton and the Lynxley journal, with Judy trying to stop him, but the viper turns the corner while Judy loses her balance as she slips. Gary drags Milton into his study, where a huge fireplace is burning, muffles him, and puts the encased journal in front of him, engaging a large retina scanner. To unlock it, Milton's eye is scanned, unlocking the case, but before Gary can take the journal out, Judy kicks the door open and catches up with them in the study]
[determined to arrest Gary]
Stop! [part of her dress covers her head]
[whimpers with fright as he recoils in fear]
[fixes her dress]
Please, you don't have to hurt him. [Gary becomes stunned to hear what she said]
Hurt him? Snakes... never hurt anyone. [Judy starts listening to him] We aren't the bad guys. [points to Milton] They are. [Judy turns confused, not knowing whose side to be on; grabs the journal out of the container] And this journal holds the secret that will prove it. I have to prove it. Please. [Judy's ears droop in surprise] This is our only chance to set things right. And when I do, my family will finally be able to come home. [gets knocked out by a frying pan from Nick, who didn't hear the situation]
Ha! I am here! [Gary collapses, uncoiling Milton and the journal] Hopps and Wilde. [chuckles] Dream team. We got him. Or her. Reptiles. It's like, who knows? [chuckles as Milton recovers and grabs the journal]
K Kitty
[barges in with Cattrick, who locks the door behind them]
The cops are right behind us.
Milton [darkly; to Kitty and Cattrick]
Kill the snake. [Nick and Judy turn to him in horror as he and his children start to approach] We'll burn the journal. If he wants it, it's dangerous. [to Judy and Nick] And then you two will file a report that he attacked us, and you will keep your mouths shut. [retracts his claws, scaring Judy and Nick] Step aside. [Cattrick and Kitty retract their claws, too. Before Nick can react, Judy kicks a fire poker, catapulting out flaming coal and igniting a tapestry, causing Milton, Cattrick, and Kitty to step back] Put out the fire!
[After Judy and Nick escape from the Lynxley Manor, Milton questions Mayor Winddancer. Cattrick and Kitty face him as well, standing on either side of Milton]
Uh, we, uh... We're gonna take that snake down.
Milton [angrily]
And the fox and that rabbit! Do you know how many mayors they've already destroyed?
[thinks while tapping the floor two times with his back hoof]
1, 2... I got up to 2.
Milton Would you like to be 3?! [Mayor Winddancer shakes his head "no"] I want them gone!
But aren't there... laws?
Milton [coming closer to Winddancer]
I will say this once, Brian. You will retrieve the journal and bury them. Or maybe I chose the wrong mayor. Did I choose the wrong mayor?
[Outside the destroyed Honeymoon Lodge, officers Chèvre and Bücheron bring a paw-cuffed Nick, who is glaring daggers, in front of Hoggbottom and Mayor Winddancer.]

[approaches Nick and removes his shades; about Judy]

[snarkily]
I dunno. But, you know, she's a rabbit, so maybe you can pull her out of your hat.
[pauses]

Milton [Officers Bücheron and Chèvre throw Nick in the prison van and slam the doors shut.] [approaches Nick]
Where are they, Mr. Wilde? [Nick turns away in denial; to Cattrick] Begin the expansion. Freeze Marsh Market. Flush everyone out.
[overhears him; worried]

Milton Water folk, like foxes, are lesser mammals. If I say they helped a dangerous snake, no one will care what we do. [digs his claws in Nick, who groans in pain] You're going to a dark cell, Mr. Wilde, just long enough to read the headline of your partner's demise. [takes his claws off Nick, who glares] You should've left town while you had the chance.

[The prison van drives away with Nick.] [holding a fur sample]
Dad. Fur from... [gives the sample] whoever's helping the bunny and the snake.
Milton [angrily clutches the bag]
