[watching the screen as Mewtwo's Clone Balls are moving through the conveyor belt]
There goes...Alakazam...Dewgong...Vileplume!
[watching the clone Pokémon being created]
Sandshrew, Nidoqueen, Vaporeon. [looks at his clone] But me, I got a special place in my tail for this one.
[lands on a conveyor belt with a hard thud]
Ugh!
Uhh. [to Team Rocket] Aah, I don't have time for your dumb motto today! [grabs Pikachu's ball but a claw grabs the ball and carries Ash with the ball]

[watching the screen and seeing a silhouette of Pikachu]
Who's that Pokémon? It's Pikachu!
[fighting with mechanical claws inside the cloning machine]
Ow! Let go! Ugh! Stupid machine! Ugh! GIVE ME BACK MY...PIKACHU! [biting the machine arm, growling in anger] AAAARRGGH!
[The silhouette of Pikachu disappears, and an alarm starts blaring] [worried]
What's happening?!
[Ash fights against the mechanical arms, breaks loose and frees Pikachu] [in shock]
Huh? [happily] Ahh! [Pikachu shakes his head and sputters] Pikachu!
Pi? [happily] Pika-Pi! [turns around and runs to Ash, and they both hug, while Ash laughs] Ka!
[The Pokémon clones start coming down and Team Rocket shudders in horror]
The copies are hatching! [the Pokémon clones start to hatch; amazed] They're fabulous fakes.
But where are the real ones?
[The Pokémon clones leave the lab while the alarm gets louder and faster] [about the clones]
I wonder if they feel--

[the machine behind them explodes]
WHOA!
[Mewtwo's cloning machine is destroyed, thereby freeing all the original Pokémon from Mewtwo's Clone Balls]

Tentacruel. [hugs Team Rocket with its tentacles, scaring them]
[After Mew deflects one of Mewtwo's attacks, knocking him backwards into the stadium seats] [bursting out of the rubble]
So, you do have some fight in you! But I have no time for games. Destiny is at hand. Who will rule? My super-Pokémon, or your pathetic group of spineless inferior Pokémon?
We were created with powers far stronger than the originals.
[Mew replies with a long set of "Mew" sounds] [understanding what Mew is saying]
Mew's got a good point.
Mew says, "You don't prove anything by showing off a lot of special powers, and that a Pokémon's real strength comes from the heart."
[angrily]
My clones don't need their powers to prove their worth! [launches a psychic attack at Mew, who dodges; Ash is nearly hit, and Team Rocket are forced to flee from the resulting rubble] I will block all the Pokémon's special abilities using my psychic powers! Now we shall see who triumphs! Go!
[The Pokémon and their clones charge into battle with each other, except Pikachu]
[Corey is riding his Pidgeot over the storm, Fergus jumps on his Gyarados]
Come back here! Or I'll place you under arrest!

[Neesha jumps on her Dewgong]
Dewgong-Gong!
Come back! [her hat flies off her head] Aah!
Some trainers have no fear.
To them, this is just one more challenge. They follow their hearts. That is what sets them apart and will make them Pokémon Masters. [Corey, Fergus and Neesha are riding their respective Pokémon to get to New Island] Good luck to all of you.
[Ash, Misty and Brock run to the dock] [with determination]
The world's greatest Pokémon Master is waiting for me! Let's use our Pokémon to get to that island!

Ash, our Pokémon aren't strong enough; They can't handle giant waves like this!

[in a Viking costume using voice of a Viking]
You vant to cross, maybe? Ve take you, ja? Ve Vikings are used to big vaves. Ve get you to New Island faster than you can say, Fahrvernugen. [cut to Jessie and James rowing the Viking boat] Stroke!
Stroke! Stroke! Stroke! [normal voice; to herself] Oh, I think I'm going to have one!
I didn't know Vikings still existed.
They mostly live in Minnesota.
Something's not right. Are you sure this boat's safe?
AM Ash, Misty, and Brock

[in a Viking voice]
Don't vorry. Dis ship von't let you down. Ve alvays sail in da rough veather. Don't get upset.
[disguised as the boat's figurehead, looking nauseous]

[to Togepi, who whimpers]
It's alright, Togepi. We're gonna be okay.

[a giant wave appears in front of the boat] [screams in terror]
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOA!
[the wave hits the boat, washing away Team Rocket's Viking costumes in the process]
Those aren't Vikings!
I should've known there was something fishy about them, besides the way they smell!
[a wave rises behind them] [seeing the wave]
Forget the motto! We're going to have to wait--

[screams]
AAAAAAAAH!
[The wave hits the boat, throwing everyone overboard]
[last lines] [sees Mew]
Hey, what's that?
What's what? [Mew disappears] I don't see anything, Ash.
[smiles]
Hmm. The day I left home to start my Pokémon journey, I saw a really rare Pokémon, and just now, I thought I saw another one.
Well, maybe you're just seeing things, Ash.
Ha-ha! Hmm. Well, maybe we'll see.
[nods in agreement]
Pikachu.
Many strange legends surround the mysteries of Pokémon, and just as many adventures await our young heroes as they continue on their quest. For Ash and his friends, the journey's just begun.
[Team Rocket is still on New Island, and they don't have any memory how they got there]
I don't have a clue how we got here, but who cares?
For once, a happy ending!

Team Rocket signing off again! [they laugh happily]
Do you have any sunscreen?
You know, I'd really like to go sailing in one of them catamarans. Ha-ha!
[Mew and Mewtwo glow with psychic energy, Ash runs towards them]
Ash, wait!
YOU'VE GOTTA STOP RIGHT NOW! [Mew and Mewtwo both fire off powerful beams] STOOOOOOP!!!! [gets hit by both blasts]
[Ash floats to the floor, then collapses slowly, groaning weakly] [in shock and disbelief]
Fool! Trying to stop our battle?
M Mew
[turns its head to the side in confusion]
Mew?
Pika-Pi! [runs to Ash] Pikachu? [Ash's body turns to stone. He tries to wake up Ash by shaking him to no avail] Pika. Pika-pi. [Gyarados and its clone start roaring, along with Rhyhorn and its clone] Pika-pi. Pika. CHU! [uses Thunderbolt on Ash, but he doesn't wake up] Pika. CHU! CHU! CHU! CHU! CHU!
[in a worried voice]
Please, no...
[still using Thunderbolt]
CHU! [panting] Pika. Pika. [uses Thunderbolt one last time] CHU! [stops using Thunderbolt in exhaustion and is panting heavily] Pika. Pika. [realizes Ash is gone; voice breaking] Pika-Pi... [starts shedding tears] Pika-Pi...
[Around the stadium, both the original Pokémon and the clones start to shed tears, which float to Ash Ketchum's body, then his body starts glowing blue] [in shock]
Pika? [in concern] Pika-Pi? [drops a few more tears on Ash's stone body]
[a beam of light then shines on Ash; his body returns to normal, and he slowly wakes up] [in shock]
Pi? [in happiness] Pika!
[in confusion]
Huh? [in shock] Oh. [smiles] Mmmm. [happily] Pikachu!
[Ash hugs Pikachu and laughs; the Trainers, Nurse Joy and the Pokémon happily rejoice] [flying with Mew, with a change of heart]
A human sacrificed himself to save the Pokémon. I pitted them against each other, but not until they set aside their differences, did I see the true power they all share deep inside.

[nods in agreement]
Mew.
I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.
[Both Mew and Mewtwo begin to glow and use their psychic powers to lift all of the cloned Pokémon into the air. The cloned Pokémon wave goodbye and fly away with Mew and Mewtwo. Ash, the Trainers and the original Pokémon watch them fly away]
Mewtwo, where are you going?
Where my heart can learn what yours knows so well. What transpired here, I will always remember. But perhaps for you, these events are best forgotten. [disappears into the clouds with the clones and Mew]
[A bright blue light from the ground begins to lift Ash, the Trainers, the Pokémon, and the light continues to increase throughout the stadium]
[somewhere] [slowly wakes up]
Where...am I? [looks around and sees itself surrounded in bubbling liquid and sees some people watching him] This...This is not the same. Was everything before just a dream? Why? [goes back to sleep]

Doctor, look at this.
FS Female Scientist
Its brainwaves. They're surging!
[more voices are clamoring, while an alarm starts blaring] [wakes up]
Those voices.
I hope we don't lose this one.
Where I must be. [his eyes glow blue, breaking the glass container, and the scientists turn and see Mewtwo]
MS Male Scientist
Radio Giovanni's helicopter! Tell him what's happened!
Quiet! [alarm stops blaring] Let us hear its psychic powers.
[looks up]
"Psychic powers"?
For years, we struggled to successfully clone a Pokémon to prove our theories, but you're the first specimen to survive. [shows Mewtwo a picture] That is Mew, the rarest of all Pokémon. From its DNA, we created you: Mewtwo.
[looks at the picture]
"Mewtwo." Am I only a copy? Nothing but Mew's shadow?
You are greater than Mew, improved through the power of human ingenuity. [Mewtwo turns to Dr. Fuji] We use the most advanced techniques to develop your awesome psychic powers.
So, I am simply the end result of your experiment. What becomes of me now that your experiment is over?
Oh, our experiment isn't over yet, it's just beginning! Now the serious testing begins.
[narrows his eyes]
These humans, they care nothing for me. [the scientists congratulate each other; he becomes tense, then looks at his hands, clenching them in anger] Is that my purpose? Am I just an experiment? A laboratory specimen? [angrily] This cannot be my destiny. [angrily glows blue and starts destroying the lab]
[The scientists run away in terror as Mewtwo destroys the lab with its psychic powers] [sitting on the ground and watching the lab become engulfed with flames; in a horrified voice]
We dreamed of creating the world's strongest Pokémon... [Mewtwo starts to form a blue orb around himself] and we succeeded.
[The blue orb enlarges and causes an explosion that destroys the lab entirely, killing all scientists, including Dr. Fuji. Afterwards, a helicopter approaches the island] [looking over the destruction he has caused]
Behold my powers! I am the strongest Pokémon in the world. Stronger even than Mew. [hears footsteps and turns around to see Giovanni]
Those fools thought you were a science experiment. But I, I see you as a valuable partner.
[nods]
With your psychic powers and my resources, together we can control the world.
I do not need your help for that, human.
A wildfire destroys everything in its path. It will be the same with your powers unless you learn to control them. I can help you do that.
Trust me, and I'll show you a way to focus your powers that will make you invincible.
Show me. [Giovanni smirks as the flames engulf the screen. Mewtwo is later shown being suited up in armor] You say this armor protects my body, yet it suppresses my powers.
Your powers are not being suppressed; they're being focused. Learn to use them to accomplish your purpose.
Patience, my friend. Your purpose will become clear.
[Mewtwo is put on a battlefield, while Giovanni snaps his fingers, and Mewtwo easily beats an Onix] [intrigued]
So, this is my power. [a group of Tauros stampede towards him, but he lifts up them using his psychic powers while Team Rocket grunts capture them] I am in control now. [continues fighting Pokémon from Alakazam, to Magneton, and Gary Oak's Nidoking and Arcanine, still winning each battle easily] But why am I here? [Fade to black. Later, Mewtwo is back in the secret lab; to himself] Now I fully perceive my power. But what is my purpose?
[approaches on the balcony]
To serve your master. You were created to fight for me. That is your purpose.
[outraged]
That cannot be. You said we were partners. We stood as equals.
You were created by humans to obey humans. You could never be our equal.
[angrily]
Humans may have created me, but they will never enslave me. This cannot be my destiny! [starts breaking free]
[furiously]
I was not born a Pokémon, I was created. And my creators have used and betrayed me. So, I stand alone! [Giovanni barely escapes while Mewtwo destroys his lab, and escapes to the island where he was created while his armor falls off and also takes off his helmet] Who am I? What is my true reason for being? [fades from the mountains to the ocean] I will find my own purpose...and purge this planet of all who oppose me, human and Pokémon alike. The world will heed my warning: [menacingly] The reign of Mewtwo will soon begin.
