Lavender: [noticing Hermione at Ron's side in the Hospital Wing] What's she doing here!?
Hermione: I might ask you the same question!
Lavender: I happen to be his girlfriend!
Hermione: I happen to be his... friend.
Lavender: Don't make me laugh. You haven't spoken in weeks! I suppose you want to make up now that he's suddenly all interesting!
Hermione: He's been poisoned, you daft dimbo! And for the record, I've always found him interesting.
[Ron stirs]
Lavender: Ah! See? He senses my presence. [leans down] Don't worry, Won-Won! I'm here. I'm here.
Ron: [croaks] Uh... Hermione... Her... my... nee. Hermione...
[Hermione tenderly takes Ron's hand. Lavender runs out in tears. Awkward silence.]
Dumbledore: [jovially] Oh, to be young and to feel love's keen sting. Well, come away everyone... Mr. Weasley is well tended.
[They all leave]
Ginny: [whispering to Harry] About time, too. Don't you think?
Harry: [To Madam Pomfrey as she puts something on Ron's bedside table] Thank you.
Hermione: [noticing Harry's expression] Oh, shut up.
[Harry leaves as Hermione continues to clutch Ron's hand and smiles tenderly at him.]

[Harry, still fully dressed, is sitting on the steps looking uneasily out of the window. Ginny, who has evidently just washed, runs into him on her way up to bed.]
Ginny: Has Ron gone to bed?
Harry: Um... [looks upstairs] not yet, no.
Ginny: [indicating his feet] Shoelace. [Harry bends down to re-tie his shoelaces, but Ginny gets there first. When she has finished, she straightens up and moves closer to him.] Merry Christmas, Harry.
Harry: Merry Christmas.
[They lean in to kiss, but Bellatrix's fireball interrupts them.]

[Ginny has stolen a place beside Harry on the couch in a secluded corner of the house on Christmas Eve. She has an eager expression. Mr. Weasley gets up and walks off]
Ginny: [taking a mince pie from the plate on her lap] Open up, you. [Smiling broadly as he looks surprised] Don't you trust me? [she feeds him the mince pie]
Harry: It's good...
[Ron approaches and sits down between them with a platter of even larger mince pies. Ginny looks somewhat crestfallen, as does Harry.]
Ron: [as he is sitting down] Yeah, I'll just... Get... Yeah. [Offering the platter] Pie?
Harry: [curtly] Not for me, no.

Draco Malfoy: Bet you loved that, didn't you, Potter? Famous Harry Potter. Can't even go into a bookshop without leading the front page.
Ginny Weasley: Leave him alone.
Draco Malfoy: Oh, look, Potter. Got yourself a girlfriend.
Lucius Malfoy: [Places the silver snake of his walking stick on Draco's shoulder] Now, now, Draco. Play nicely. [To Harry] Lucius Malfoy. Your scar is legend. As is, of course, is the wizard who gave it to you.
Harry: Voldemort killed my parents. He was nothing more than a murderer.
Lucius Malfoy: Hmm, you must be very brave to mention his name... or very foolish.
Hermione: Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself.
Lucius Malfoy: And you must be... Miss Granger. Yes, Draco's told me all about you... and your parents. Muggles, aren't they? [Looks at Ron] Let me see. Red hair, vacant expressions... [Takes a book out of Ginny's cauldron] tatty, secondhand book. You must be the Weasleys.

[The Weasley brothers enter the Burrow, quietly, as Harry looks around, with amazement]
Ron: It's not much, but it's home.
Harry: I think it's brilliant.
Molly: [comes downstairs; annoyed] WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! [notices Harry; kindly] Harry, how wonderful to see you, dear. [to her sons; miffed] Beds empty?! No note?! Car gone?! You could have died! You could have been seen! Of course, I don't blame you, Harry, dear.
Ron: They were starving him, Mum. There were bars on his window.
Molly: [sternly] Well, you best hope I don't put bars on your window, Ronald Weasley! Come on, Harry, time for a spot of breakfast. [A short time later, she makes breakfast as Ginny comes down the stairs and enters the kitchen] Here we are, Harry. Now tuck in. That's it. There we go.
Ginny: Mummy, have you seen my jumper?
Molly: Yes, dear, it was on the cat.
Harry: [when Ginny sees him in surprise] Hello. [Ginny shyly runs off; confused] What did I do?
Ron: Ginny. She's been talking about you all summer. Bit annoying, really.
Arthur: Morning, Weasleys!
Fred, George and Ron: Morning, Dad.
Arthur: What a night. Nine raids. Nine!
Harry: Raids?
Ron: Dad works in the Ministry of Magic, in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office. Dad loves Muggles, thinks they're fascinating.
Arthur: Well, now, and who are you?
Harry: Oh, sorry, sir. I'm Harry, sir, Harry Potter.
Arthur: Good Lord, are you really? Well, Ron has told us all about you, of course. When did he get here?
Molly: This morning. Your sons flew that enchanted car of yours to Surrey and back last night.
Arthur: Did you really? How'd it go? I mean, that was very wrong, indeed, boys. Very wrong of you. Now, Harry, you must know all about Muggles. Tell me, what exactly is the function of a rubber duck?
Harry: Oh, um...
Molly: Well, that'll be Errol with the post. [Errol bumps into the window due to his poorly eyesight] Oh, fetch it, will you, Percy, please?
Percy: Errol...
Ron: He's always doing that.
Percy: Oh, look, it's our Hogwarts letters. And they've sent us Harry's as well.
Arthur: Dumbledore must know you're here, Harry. Doesn't miss a trick, that man.
Fred: This lot won't come cheap, Mum. The spell books alone are very expensive.
Molly: We'll manage. There's only one place we're going to get all of this: Diagon Alley.
Ron: It's not much, but it's home.
Harry: I think it's brilliant.

[Nigel offers Ron a parcel that was being delivered from his mother]
Ron: Oh, look, Mum sent me something. [unwraps the parcel and opens it, revealing a hideous brown garment] Mum sent me dress.
Harry: Well, it does match your eyes. Is there a bonnet? [pulls out a white bonnet from the parcel] Aha!
Ron: Nose down, Harry. [walks over to Ginny] Ginny, these must be for you.
Ginny: I'm not wearing that. It's ghastly.
Ron: [to Hermione as she giggles] What are you on about?
Hermione: They're not for Ginny. They're for you. [Fred, George, and other Gryffindors laugh] Dress robes.
Ron: Dress robes? For what?

Ginny: It's okay, Ron. It's all right. It-It doesn't matter.
Harry: What happened to you?
Ginny: He just asked Fleur Delacour out. [sets Ron down on the chair]
Hermione: What?!
Harry: What did she say?
Hermione: No, of course. [Ron groans as he shakes his head; puts her hands on her mouth, shocked] She said yes?
Ron: Don't be silly. There she was, walking by. You know how I like it when they walk. I couldn't help it. It just sort of slipped out.
Ginny: Actually, he sort of screamed at her. It was a bit frightening.
Harry: And what did you do then?
Ron: What else? I ran for it. I'm not cut out for this, Harry. I don't know what got into me.
Pavariti & Padma: [walking past] Hi, Harry.
Ron: I've always liked looking at them from behind. Oh, she's never gonna forgive me, ever.

Hermione: [Running up with Harry to meet Ginny, Ron, Neville and Luna] How did you get away?
Ginny: Puking Pastilles, it wasn't pretty.
Ron: I told them I was hungry and wanted some sweets. Of course they told me to bugger off and ate them all themselves.
Hermione: [Surprised] That was clever, Ron!
Ron: It's been known to happen.
Neville: It was brilliant. So how are we get in London?
Harry: Look, it's not that I don't appreciate everything you've done, all of you. But, I've got you into enough trouble as it is.
Neville: Dumbledore's Army was supposed to be about doing something real. Or was all that just words to you?
Ron: Maybe you don't have to do this all by yourself mate.
Harry: So how are we going to get to London?
Luna: We fly, of course.

Harry: First we need to find a place to practice where Umbridge won't find out.
