View Quote
Dudley: For God's sake, you are still my Elizabeth.
Elizabeth: I am not your Elizabeth! I am no man's Elizabeth. And if you think to rule here, you are mistaken. I will have one mistress here... and no master!

Dudley: You blush, Lady Knollys. Are you in love?
Isabel Knollys: No, my lord.
Dudley: Then you should be, or waste all that beauty.

Dudley: You are in the greatest danger. You must believe me. But you have a friend. Someone who can guarantee your safety and your throne.
Elizabeth: A friend?
Dudley: The King of Spain.
Elizabeth: [to her servants] Leave us. [to Dudley] How would he guarantee it?
Dudley: He would marry you.
Elizabeth: Only to make an alliance. Nothing more. He would not expect to...
Dudley: He would live in Spain.
Elizabeth: Why do you do this, Robert?
Dudley: Because I love you. And though you will not see me, I am the only one who would care for you.
Elizabeth: You love me so much you would have me be your whore?
Dudley: For God's sake, I do this for us. I ask you to save some part of us!
Elizabeth: Lord Robert, you may make whores of my Ladies but you shall not make one of me.

Enemy at the Gates (2001) as Danilov

[After Sacha has left Danilov's headquarters; he is acting as a double agent, risking direct contact with Koenig behind German lines as an aide]
Vassili: Danilov. You had NO RIGHT to use him!
Danilov: Oh, no, no, I didn't. He... did it of his own accord. You know why? Because he BELIEVES IN YOU!
Vassili: Danilov. You had NO RIGHT to use him!

I've been such a fool, Vassili. Man will always be man. There is no new man. We tried so hard to create a society that was equal, where there'd be nothing to envy your neighbour. But there's always something to envy. A smile, a friendship, something you don't have and want to appropriate. In this world, even a Soviet one, there will always be rich and poor. Rich in gifts, poor in gifts. Rich in love, poor in love.

I want our boys, to raise their heads. I want them to act like they have BALLS! I want them to stop SHITTING THEIR PANTS!
Do you know any heroes around here? Yes, comrade. I know one.
Red Army General : I carried out my orders. I sent in all of my boys. But the Germans engulfed us. They have artillery, aircraft, tanks. And me, what did I have?!
Khrushchev: A sacred duty to resist! I have to report to the Boss. [puts a pistol on the table] Perhaps you'd prefer to avoid the red tape.
[Khrushchev walks out of the room to address political officers. There is a gunshot, then he begins.]
Krushchev: My name... is Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev. I've come to takes things in hand here. This city... is not Kursk, nor is it Kiev, nor Minsk. This city... is Stalingrad. Stalin-grad! The city bears the name of the Boss. It's more than a city, it's a symbol. If the Germans capture this city, the entire country will collapse. Now, I want our boys to raise their heads. I want them to act like they have BALLS! I want them to stop SHITTING THEIR PANTS! [briefly pauses] That's your job. As political officers, I'm counting on you. [stops at one] You, what's your suggestion?
Officer #1: Shoot all the other generals who have retreated. And their chiefs of staff, too.
[Khruschev looks at another.]
Officer #2: M-make s-some examples. D-d-d-d-d-de-port the families of the d-d-deserters...
Khrushchev: [bored] Yes, yes, that's all been done.
Danilov: Give them hope!
[Kruschev walks over and looks at the officer standing in the front, who motions with his eyes toward Danilov.]
Danilov: Here the men's only choice is between German bullets and ours. But there's another way, the way of courage, the way of love of the Motherland. We must publish the army newspaper again. We must tell magnificent stories, stories that extol sacrifice, bravery. We must give them hope, pride, a desire to fight. We must make them believe in the victory. Yes, we need to make examples; but examples to follow. What we need... are heroes.
Khrushchev: [looks around, wryly] Do you know any heroes around here?

Hercules (2014) as Eurystheus
View Quote
[revealing his true nature to Hercules] My men told me how your children screamed as my wolves gnawed on their bones. As their fangs despoiled your daughter's pure flesh. When the people called out your name louder than mine, you see, when they saw you as a god, how long before they saw you as their king?
View Quote
[final words before being killed by Hercules] Hercules, listen to me. None of this is my fault. You see, Cotys poisoned my mind, turned me against you! I like you. Now stop. I command you to stop! I'm your King! You took an oath to obey me! You swore to Zeus! Wait, wait. You fight for gold. I have plenty of gold, name of price. Find it in your heart to forgive.

Hercules: Whenever I'm here, I'm sure this is what Elysium must look like.
Eurystheus: [chuckles] Well, men like us have the means to create our own paradise on Earth. [shows Hercules the peacocks] Look. Magnificent, aren't they? Well, do not keep us in suspense. Are we safe from the monster Hydra?
Hercules: [opens a bag full of decapitated Hydra heads] The Hydra heads, Your Majesty.
Eurystheus: [lifts the Hydra head open to show a human head] The masks of serpents. No wonder men thought they were monsters. You've done your sovereign a great service. Come. Let the people have their hero. [he and Hercules approach the balcony]
Male Servant: All hail King Eurystheus, and the mighty protector of Athens, Hercules! [the crowd roars with cheers and chants]
Eurystheus: A man faced with such adoration might be tempted to think himself a god.
Hercules: I only want to be a husband and a father.
