Lily Woodhouse
[to Maria in initiation ceremony]
We'll take care of you. Do you understand? Yes. Splendid. You will pledge to our lord. When the time comes, you will put your name on the the list. Then you seal the deal with blood. You kill your sacrifice, dear. One death for one life. A small price for immortality. But if you break your word, run away, or don't find an offering... our Lord will take you.
