Susan Storm: Reed, I know you. I'm glad you had fun.
Reed Richards: Thank you.
Susan Storm: Besides, it was nothing compared to what I did at my bachelorette party. Talk about wild.
General Hager: No, you don't understand. So let me make it clear for you and your pack of freaks here. I'm the quarterback. You're on my team, got it? But I guess you never played football in high school, did you, Richards?
Reed Richards: No, you're right, I didn't. I stayed inside and studied, like a good little nerd. And fifteen years later, I'm one of the greatest minds of the 21st century, I'm engaged to the hottest girl on the planet, and the big jock who played quarterback in high school? Well, he's standing right in front of me asking me for my help. And I say he's not gonna get a damn thing, unless he does exactly what I tell him, and starts treating my friends and me, with some respect.
[Pause]
General Hager: Give him what he wants.
[The general storms off.]
Susan Storm: I am so hot for you right now.
Johnny Storm: Me too. All right, Reed!
[Susan Storm has suddenly switched powers with her brother, and is floating outside a window, shouting at Reed. Reed sees her and responds in alarm.]
Reed Richards: Sue! You're on fire!
Susan Storm: [irate] Ya think?!
Susan Storm: Why are you destroying our planet?
Silver Surfer: I have no choice.
Susan Storm: There’s always a choice.
The Silver Surfer: Not always.
The Silver Surfer: [restrained in the lab] I know you are there.
Susan Storm: [appears] What's your name?
The Silver Surfer: [no answer]
Susan Storm: Come on. You must have a name. I'm Susan.
The Silver Surfer: [still does not answer]
Susan Storm: You said you weren't the one trying to destroy our world. Then who is?
The Silver Surfer: The One I serve.
Susan Storm: Who do you serve?
The Silver Surfer: [does not answer]
Susan Storm: Look, I'm trying to help you. But in order to do that, you have to tell me the truth. Please.
The Silver Surfer: [the image of a ruined world appears on his stomach] It is known by many names. My people called it... Galactus, the devourer of worlds. It must feed on energy to survive, both thermal and organic.
Susan Storm: How could you willingly serve this thing?
The Silver Surfer: Because I must.
Susan Storm: Doesn't it bother you? All the worlds and innocent people you've helped destroy?
The Silver Surfer: My service spares my world, and the one I love.
Susan Storm: Did you know I could create a force field inside someone's body and expand it until they explode?
Victor Von Doom: Give it your best shot.
[Reed is using his elastic power to stretch his thumbs across his PDA very quickly]
Johnny Storm: Ya'know, I've always been both impressed and disgusted at that.
Reed Richards: Yeah, Sue says I'm addicted to it.
Johnny Storm:[To himself] I wonder why she'd say that.
Johnny Storm: I've got to tell you though Ben, I'm starting to feel like a complete screw up.
Ben Grimm: Hey, you're not a complete screw-up.
Johnny Storm: Thank you.
Ben Grimm: Look kid. Its out of our hands, its up to the eggheads now.
Johnny Storm: You think Reed's right? About the whole end of the world thing?
Ben Grimm: He's never wrong about this kind of thing before.
Johnny Storm: [after a long silence] Well, I haven't exactly been a deep kind of guy.
Ben Grimm: Really.
Johnny Storm: But if Reed's right and this is it... how do you wanna spend your last few minutes?
Ben Grimm: Part of me would like to go out fighting. [pauses] But the truth is, I'd like to spend my last few minutes holding Alicia.
Johnny Storm: [absentmindedly] That sounds pretty good. [notices Ben's jealous stare] Not holding Alicia thing, that's, you know, your girlfriend, not mine, want nothing to do with her. [sees Ben's look getting worse] Not to say she's not attractive, she's very attractive, I mean, you know, so attractive. Even with the... [Johnny waves one of his hands infront of his face] can't even think of a guy that wouldn't want to–
[Ben pounds the table out of anger.]
Johnny Storm: What I meant, is that it's just nice to have somebody.
Ben Grimm: Well, you got me pal.
Johnny: So, you and Alicia are doing well.
Ben: Heh-heh, yeah.
Johnny: Yeah. So, how do you guys, uh...
[Johnny makes movements with arms, and snaps fingers.]
Ben: That's none of your business!
Johnny: Okay, okay! Let's just hope you don't wake up one morning to find out she was killed in a rock slide!
Ben: I'll show you a rock slide!
[Reed, Sue, Johnny, Ben, Hager, and the military are gathered in the building.]
General Hager: What the hell was that?
Reed: We'll make adjustments. Next time, we'll be ready.
General Hager: Next time? There's no next time. You can't handle this alone. That's why I'm bringing in some help.
Reed: General, if you bring in more soldiers and weaponry, you're gonna put innocent people in danger.
Victor: No more than you already have.
[Johnny stands up in surprise. As Sue looks shocked, Ben starts to get angry. They and Reed see Victor standing in front of them.]
Reed: Victor?
Victor: What's the matter? Afraid of ghosts?
[Enraged, Ben runs at Victor. Hager moves out of the way. Ben grabs Victor by the throat and slams him against a concrete wall. A soldier aims a gun at Ben and Victor.]
Ben: Since you're a ghost, you won't mind if I break your little neck.
General Hager: Let him go.
Johnny: [Points at Ben and Victor] Don't you know who that is?
General Hager: He's Victor von Doom. He's here under my orders.
[As Ben holds Victor by his throat, Hager turns to Reed. Reed turns to Ben and Victor.]
Reed: Ben, let him go.
[Ben lets go of Victor, who falls to his knees and coughs repeatedly.]
Reed: How is this possible? How are you still alive?
Victor: [Stands up] No thanks to you four, that's for certain. [Wipes the dust off his jacket sleeve]
General Hager: Von Doom's made contact with the alien. He's got valuable information.
Victor: Information that might just help save the planet. Now let's be clear about this, shall we? I hate you. All of you. But the world's at stake, and we need to work together to survive.
Reed: General, we know firsthand you trust Victor and you're gonna regret it.
General Hager: So far, the only one I regretted trusting here is you, Richards.
Ben: Reed, don't agree to this.
Reed: Let's see what he's got.
