6 quotes Beast Beast Oh, it's no use. She's so beautiful, and I'm... Well, look at me!
Beast She'll never see me as anything... but a monster. ...It's hopeless.
Beast [To Mrs Potts, Lumiere, and Coggsworth]
But she is being so difficult!
Beast You- You came back
Papa? Papa? [Lumiere and Cogsworth go in] Hello? Is someone here? Wait! I'm looking for my father. I... That's funny. I'm sure there was someone. I-Is anyone here?
Belle?
Papa! [grabs a stick of fire]
H-How did you find me?
Oh, your hands are like ice. I have to get you out of there.
Belle, I want you to leave this place.
Who's done this to you?
No time to explain. You must go! Now!
I won't leave you!
Beast [grabs Belle]
What are you doing here?
Run, Belle! [stick of fire gets thrown]
Who's there? Who are you?
Beast The master of this castle. [roars]
I've come for my father. Please let him out. Can't you see he's sick?
Beast Then he shouldn't have trespassed here!
But he could die. Please, I-I'll do anything.
Beast There's nothing you can do. He's my prisoner.
Oh, there must be some way I can... Wait! Take me instead.
Beast You?! You would... take his place?
Belle, no! You don't know what you're doing!
If I did, would you let him go?
Beast Yes. But you must promise to stay here forever.
Come into the light.
No, Belle! I won't let you do this!
You have my word.
Beast Done!
No, Belle, listen to me. I'm old. I've lived my life. [Beast grabs Maurice away from Belle.]
Wait.
Belle!
Wait! [Beast opens the castle door.]
No, please spare my daughter. Please!
Beast She's no longer your concern. [throws Maurice into the Pallenquin and shuts the Pallenquin door] Take him to the village.
Let me out! Please let me out! Let me out! Please! Please! [Pallenquin slinks like a spider and Belle cries]

NOW!
You What?
Beast Who are you? What are you doing here?!
I was lost in the woods and...
Beast You're not welcome here!
I'm sorry.
Beast What are you staring at?!
Nothing!
Beast So you've come to stare at the Beast, have you?!
Please, I meant no harm. I just needed a place to stay.
Beast I'll give you a place to stay!
No, please! No, no!
Beast I want to do something for her... but what?
Oh, there's the usual things; flowers, chocolates, promises you don't intend to keep...
David Ogden Stiers ad-libbed this line himself
Beast [through clenched teeth]
Well, where is she?
Who? Oh, heh-heh, the girl. Yes, the girl. Well, actually, she's in the process of, er...circumstances being what they are...she's not coming.
Beast WHAT??!!!!!
Beast I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO COME DOWN TO DINNER!
I'M NOT HUNGRY!
Beast YOU COME OUT, OR I'LL... I'LL BREAK DOWN THE DOOR!!!
Uh, Master, I could be wrong, but that may not be the best way to win the girl's affections.
Please! Attempt to be a gentleman.
Beast [through clenched teeth]
But she is being so difficult!
Gently, gently.
Beast [to Belle]
Will you come down to dinner?
No!
Beast [to the objects]
Hmm?
Suave. Genteel.
Beast [back to Belle, with forced calm]
It would give me great pleasure, if you would join me for dinner.
And we say please.
Beast Please?
NO THANK YOU!
Beast YOU CAN'T STAY IN THERE FOREVER!
YES, I CAN!!
Beast FINE!! THEN GO AHEAD AND STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARVE!!!!! [to the objects] If she doesn't eat with me, then she doesn't eat at all!
Voila! (Sees that the Beast has been given ringlets) Oh, you look so...so...
Beast Stupid.
Not quite ze word I was looking for. Perhaps a little more off the top?
Beast [the Beast catches Belle in the West Wing]
Why did you come here?
I'm sorry.
Beast I warned you never to come here!
I didn't mean any harm.
Beast Do you realize what you could have done???
Beast Get out!! GET OOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUT!!!!!!!
Beast THAT HURTS!!!
If you hold still, it wouldn't hurt as much!
Beast If you hadn't ran away, this wouldn't have happened!
If you hadn't frightened me, I wouldn't have run away!
Beast Well, you shouldn't have been in the West Wing!
Well, you should learn to control your temper.
Beast (The Beast lays dying. Belle runs to him. Meanwhile, the rose is down to its last petal.)
You...you came back...
If only I'd gotten here sooner...
Beast Maybe it's...better this way...
No! Don't say that! We're together now. Everything will be fine!
Beast At least I...got to see you...one last time...
Beast I let her go.
Beast I had to.
Yes, but... why?
Beast Because... I love her.
Cut to after Cogsworth tells the other objects
Objects
He did WHAT?!
Yes. I'm afraid it's true.
She's going away?
But he was so close.
After all this time, he's finally learning to love.
That's it then! That should break the spell!
But it's not enough. She has to love him in return.
Now, it's too late.
Beast You Wanna You wanna stay in the tower?
No.
Beast Then follow me.
Beast [The Beast catches Belle in the West Wing]
Why did you come here?
I'm sorry.
Beast I warned you never to come here!
I didn't mean any harm.
Beast [now completely furious]
Do you realize what you could have done?! [smashes a table out of anger]
Please... Stop! No!
Beast [yelling]
Get out! [smashes more objects as Belle runs out in absolute terror] GET OUT! [finally calming down, he looks dismayed at his own behavior]
[Belle immediately grabs her cloak, puts it on, and runs out of the castle; with Cogsworth and Lumiere close behind]
Where are you going?
Promise or no promise, I can't stay here another minute.
Oh no, wait! Please! Please, wait!
